As managing partner, Joe draws on over thirty years of experience in the law and in business. His career with Richardson and Tyler, LLP began in 1978 when he joined a team of attorneys who believed in working together to provide excellent service to their clients, who demanded the highest ethical and professional standards from the members of the firm, and who believed that a business can, and should, seek to improve its community.
Joe has taken these principles and developed and expanded them throughout his career. He has led Richardson and Tyler, LLP with a team based approach both with the members of the firm, and clients, to build and sustain client relationships.
Joe has also developed contacts with professionals with intersecting expertise, such as CPAs, Financial Planners, Realtors and attorney specialists. Joe draws on these resources to provide comprehensive services appropriate for each client.
His clients range from individuals to businesses large and small. The services valued by these clients include:
- Negotiation and documentation of complex transactions, such as financing, mergers, acquisitions, sales, and real estate transactions.
- Civil litigation, ranging from commercial disputes to wrongful death to guardianship proceedings.
- Dispute mediation.
- Planning for estates and business.
Joe received his Bachelor’s degree from Boston College (A.B., Phi Beta Kappa) and Juris Doctorate from Boston University Law School. Joe is admitted to practice before all Massachusetts state and Federal courts, the United States Tax Court, and the Department of Transportation. He is a Probate and Family court-appointed Conciliator, member of the Massachusetts Bar Association (business and property law sections), a certified mediator in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
